Gluten-Free Dairy-Free Egg-Free Vegan Soy-Free Nut-Free Peanut-Free Corn-Free

Create the bagel of your choice, using our Pizza Crust Mix. To make bagels with our Bread Mix, see our other Bagels recipe.

Ingredients

Yield: 4 to 6 large bagels

    • 2 cups Pamela’s Pizza Crust Mix
    • 2-1/4 tsp or 7 grams active dry yeast
    • 2 TBSP oil
    • 1 cup plus 1 TBSP very warm water (110°optimum)
Directions

    MIXING:

Scoop and level pizza mix in dry measuring cup, don’t pack. Using a stand mixer with paddle attachment or mixing by hand, combine dry mix, oil, water and yeast. Mix on medium for 15 to 30 seconds until dough is completely combined. Scrape down dough in bowl into a ball, lightly oil the top, cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 to 2 hours, or until doubled.

    FORMING:

With oiled fingers, scoop out 1/2 cup dough for each bagel. Shape into round and with oiled finger, create hole in center of bagel. Place on parchment or greased baking sheet. Lightly cover

with plastic and let rest 30 minutes. Boil a large pan of water on stove top. With slotted spoon, lower bagel into water and boil for 30 seconds. Remove, shake off water, and place back on baking sheet. (Cornmeal can be sprinkled on baking sheet to add a nice texture and flavor to bottom of bagels.) Note: if desired top with seeds, garlic, onion, or cheese immediately after boiling.

    BAKING:

Pre-heat oven to 475° Bake for 15 to 20 minutes on top rack.

These came out fantastic!! The crust came out hard with a fluffy inside. I actually turned these into flagels for my diet and love using them for my breakfast!
